When you get started with Grin, you will be invited to download the app and register for a patient profile. Once you’ve set up your patient profile, you’ll be ready to take your first scan for your doctor. For more information on the scanning process, see the How to Scan article.
How to Accept an Invitation
Your doctor will add you as a patient on their doctor web portal. Doing this will trigger an email with your temporary password. You will use this temporary password to register for the first time. It will be sent to the email address that you gave to your orthodontist.
What to Do If You Haven’t Received an Invitation
Your doctor will send you the initial invitation to download the app and create your account with Grin. Some doctors may send the invitation right away and some may take a few days to add you as a patient and send your invitation. If you haven’t received your invitation email, please check your spam folder. You can also reach out to Grin support to resend the invitation email by clicking on the help button located on the main page of the Grin website www.get-grin.com.
Downloading the Grin App and First Time Sign In
To download the app, follow the app link provided in the invitation email. You can also find the Grin app in the App Store (Apple) or Google Play store (Android) by searching “Get Grin.”
Once you open the app, be sure to sign in using the credentials provided in the email (your user name and temporary password).
If you get an error message that says your username already exists, make sure you haven’t signed up previously or shared an email with a family member who is also using Grin.
Signing in with Social Accounts
Once you’ve signed up initially and have completed your registration on the Grin app, you will be able to use your social accounts to log in next time as long as they share the same email address.
If you’re not able to sign in with your social accounts after your initial registration, make sure you’re using the same email address in Grin as you are on the social account you’re trying to use to log in.
